Our History

Optelian was founded in 2002 by three Principals with over 70 years of combined industry experience. The founders of the company held a common belief that a high-tech company could design and manufacture a quality product as well as provide a high standard of customer service and support. A basic tenet underlying every phase of business at Optelian is that “People deal with People”. With this thought in mind, Optelian opened discussions with various customers and began designing, manufacturing and supplying high quality products that met the customers technical and delivery requirements.

Manufacturing facilities were established in Ottawa, Canada and Sales and Marketing offices were opened in Atlanta, GA. The company continues to meet the quality and delivery goals set forth at inception and the list of domestic and international customers is growing.

To meet the needs of an expanding customer base, Optelian opened an expanded Customer Support, Technical Support, Sales and Marketing facility in Marietta, GA. This location, just a few miles from downtown Atlanta, serves as a conference, distribution and training center. With the two facilities, Optelian is well positioned to take care of its North American customer base and is poised for further International opportunities as well.
