Mounting

One key aspect of LightGAIN's flexibility is the choice of mounting options to fit any application.

The 1U OMS-119 is a passive shelf (no power or management) that is typically used for CWDM/DWDM multiplexers or splitters.

The 2U OMS-219 is used either on its own or is paired with the OMS-119. As an active shelf (powered, managed and fan-cooled) it typically houses the transponder cards in a CWDM or DWDM application. Another common application is for mounting mid-span amplifiers or regenerators. At 2U it takes very little space in a remote cabinet or at a customer premise.

The 5U OMS-519 is an active, convection cooled shelf with 14 slots for cards. A wide variety of applications including regeneration, CWDM, DWDM and ROADM can be accommodated in this compact, low power, economical shelf.

The 7U OMS-719 is an active, fan cooled shelf that can do everything the OMS-519 can do plus has upgradability to more advanced applications such as OTN and muxponding.

The active shelves all feature redundant power supplies, alarms and reversible mounting brackets for both 19" and 23" racks.

The variety of mounting shelves is one of the key factors that makes LightGAIN such a flexible system. Shelves come in 1, 2, 5 and 7U sizes to fit into available rack space.

All shelves have reversible mounting brackets for both 19" and 23" racks. The OMS-719 also has brackets for ETSI racks and cabinets.
