DCM

DCMs (Dispersion Compensation Modules) are dispersion management elements that can be inserted into an optical fiber network to control the overall effects of chromatic dispersion.

The DCM complements Optelian’s 40 Channel DWDM system by providing dispersion compensation for reach extension beyond 100 km.

The DCM’s low insertion loss and exceptional linearity allow them to be placed at transmitter, receiver, or mid-span locations.

As part of Optelian’s LightGAIN family, the unit mounts in any of the active shelves and, while fully passive, it can be seen and inventoried by the Optelian network management system.
