The RGN-10GXT uses a line-side tunable and a client-side XFP transceiver for both transponder and regenerator 10 Gb/s applications.
The RGN-10GXT features a long reach laser, tunable over the full DWDM C-band with 89 selectable channels from 1528.77 to 1563.86 nm at 50 GHz spacing.
A second 10 Gb/s client-side XFP interface gives flexibility with 850 nm, 1310 nm, 1550 nm, or DWDM pluggable optics with SR to LR-2 reach. Wavelength and fiber conversion are supported over single and multimode fiber.
The RGN-10GXT provides 3R operation (Reshape, Regenerate and Re-time) from 9.95 to 11.32 Gb/s. Optelian’s in-built electronic dispersion compensation (EDC) extends reach to 100 km.
The unit can operate standalone (alarm relay contacts) or with remote network management. It provides configuration access via a front panel RS-232 password protected craft interface. Status is shown with a graphic display and LEDs.
The RGN-10GXT can be used as a wavelength transponder or as a 2-port or 4-port regenerator.
