LightGAIN EWX-800 8 Channel DWDM Module

The LightGAIN EWX-800 East and West modules are passive 8 channel DWDM that are designed to mount in Optelian’s OMS-519 mounting solution. Installation is quick and effortless. Each module has 11 optical ports with SC/PC connectors: Ports 1-8 for eight ITU wavelengths, a common (COM) port, and two Monitor ports for East and West testing capabilities. The EWX-800’s are ideally compatible with the RGN-200 Reach Extender/Wavelength Converter, ITU transponder that allows for 8 Channel UPSR.

The EWX-800 modules are normally deployed in pairs. The EWX-800 East module, at the ‘near-end’ of a transmission link, combines 8 ITU wavelengths from Ports 1 to 8 onto a single common fiber. At the ‘far-end’ of the same link, the EWX-800 West module separates the original wavelengths from the common fiber and presents them to their respective terminal equipment. The EWX-800 East and West cassettes can be used in both uni-directional and bi-directional applications.

At each end of the link, 2% of the common optical signal is tapped off for monitoring purposes and presented on both the East and West MON ports.

The EWX-800 East and West modules, operating together, have been designed to minimize end-to-end insertion loss to below 5.5 dB.
