PON Splitters and Filters

Passive Optical Network (PON) splitters and filters facilitate the splitting of a single signal N ways for downstream distribution of video. A 1xN splitter will take a video signal and split it N ways. Power losses associated with the splitting function will increase with increasing value of N.

Optelian provides a variety of optical splitters and associated filters for Fiber To The x (FTTx) applications. The LightGAIN FTTx wavelength splitters are available in 1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x16, 1x32, and 1x64 configurations with SC/APC and LC/APC connector options. They can be configured in rack mount shelves or Lucent LGX^® compatible cassettes. Naturally these units are hardened for the outside environment and can easily be installed in a remote terminal, CEV or small cabinet.

The LightGAIN FTTx WDM cassettes are passive modules that can combine, in various configurations, the 1310nm, 1490nm, and 1550nm wavelengths used in triple play solutions to deliver voice, data and video. A 1590nm wavelength can be added for video control. These cassettes are designed to easily mount in Optelian’s CMS mounting shelves or in the Lucent and Lucent LGX^® compatible shelves. SC/APC and LC/APC connector options are available.
